will Anthony Chickillo end up at Miami?
"There he goes, one of Gods own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die"
Last I heard, he was ours to lose. He's a legacy 2x over, both his pops and grandfather played at Miami. He was reported by plenty of people who were in attendance at the Miami spring game that he was talking up Miami to all the recruits there. Rob Hankins, MLB out of TX, pointed to his time hanging out w/Chickillo and his family during the game as a major draw for him to Miami.
All that being said--as usual, it's recruiting, and anything can happen. Miami has limited spots as this will be a small class. If other guys at DE pull the trigger on offers before Chickillo, it may see him on the outside looking in, even with his family's ties to UM. He has said from the get-go that he wanted to go through the recruiting process and make this thing his own...he's quoted his dad as saying "I went through my recruitment, time for you to go through yours". Also, Miami hasn't had a lot of good luck out of Tampa (more specifically Plant HS), but Tampa in general hasn't been a really fertile place for Miami to pull recruits from as of late. Miami might take 2-3 DE's in this class IF that, and they're on the trail of kids like Anthony Rabasa, Ishaq Williams, Curt Maggitt, and Bryant Dubose along with their recruitment of Chickillo.
If nothing wild happens, I expect him to be a Cane, but he's not what I'd call a "lock".

That's what I figured. There was an article on the UT site today about him. I know UT has ZERO shot at him. I was just asking because in the article he said the only camp he was taking would be to USC. I figured all along that he'd end up at Miami after I saw who his dad was a few months ago. The article I read just didn't really have a lot of stuff to say about Miami. I didn't know if things weren't good there (his dad with Miami nowadays) or what. He looks like a hell of a player.

Yep--good kid, great motor. Put 30-40lbs of muscle on him and watch him be a really great pass rushing weakside DE. I like his aggressiveness, his technique, and his lineage. And I'm repeating myself here, but you can't teach a kid to have a motor that don't quit like he has.
